Director, Strategic Impact
We’re seeking a bold, systems-thinking leader to architect and implement a cross-sector strategy that advances community priorities, drives innovative financing, and fuels lasting community change. As Director, you’ll facilitate cross-sector conversations that develop strategic plans, support blended capital stacks from public, philanthropic, private, and mission-driven sources—removing barriers, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring measurable ROI for our community and funders.
Your Impact

Unite Leaders – Convene cross-sector partners around a shared vision for identified priorities.

Design & Deploy Solutions – Create initiatives powered by multi-layered resources.

Innovate for Scale – Lead collaborations, pilots, and ventures advancing priority areas with an immediate focus on rural housing delivery models.

Prove ROI – Quantify the economic and community benefits of investments.

Tell the Story – Build compelling visuals and narratives that inspire action.
What You’ll Do
-
Facilitate strategy sessions that turn ideas into actionable plans.

Collaborate with leaders and donors across city government, employers, nonprofits, housing, education, health, and philanthropy.

Manage innovation-driven entities or initiatives supporting systems change.
-
Create communication collateral.
-
Promote and present projects and initiatives to donors, funders, and community partners; represent CFGM at public meetings and events.

Oversee funding models that blend diverse capital sources for maximum impact.

Supervise community grant writing position.
-
Implement and report on grant-funded projects, as appropriate.

Track progress against milestones and deliver results.
What We’re Looking For
-
5+ years in community development, project management, systems design, strategic planning, or cross-sector leadership.

Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

Strong multimodal communication skills.

Proven track record of strategy mindset and execution, stakeholder facilitation, and team leadership.

Strong ability to synthesize complex data into clear actions, visuals, and compelling stories.

Commitment to collaboration and innovative problem-solving.
-
Adaptable and ambitious learner.
-
Expertise in finance mechanisms, a plus.
-
Efficient administrative and technology skills.
Tools You Know
Microsoft Suite | Project Management (Asana or similar) | Mapping/Data Platforms | Canva/Adobe Creative Suite
Location & Travel
Based in Muscatine County, local residency strongly preferred. Occasional travel, evening and weekend events.
Compensation & Classification
Competitive and commensurate with experience, with benefits included; full time, exempt. Reports to: President
