AVAILABLE GRANTS

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine grants more than $5 million each year to area organizations. Applications are available on our grant portal.

  • Short-Term Liquid Portfolio
    This is our most conservative investment model portfolio and is most applicable for the investment of short-term assets when liquidity and security of principal are the primary goal and investment return is secondary. Short-Term Liquid Portfolio Returns: 10-Year Average Rate of Return: 1.50% 10-Year Compounded Annual Growth Rate: 1.45% 2023 Rate of Return: 3.31% 2024 August Rate of Return: 0.36% 2024 YTD Rate of Return: 3.95%
  • Conservative Portfolio
    This is a long-term investment portfolio and consists of a mix of fixed-income investments and equity investments to accomplish donors' charitable goals. This model portfolio provides the opportunity for long-term assets to be invested with a strong conservative bias yet provide potential growth that has historically been attributed to equity securities. Conservative Portfolio Returns: 10-Year Average Rate of Return: 5.38% 10-Year Compounded Annual Growth Rate: 5.18% 2023 Rate of Return: 12.36% 2024 August Rate of Return: 1.57% 2024 YTD Rate of Return: 7.67%
  • Active Portfolio
    This is a long-term investment portfolio and consists of a mix of fixed-income investments and increased security allocation to equity investments and is most applicable for investment of assets that are seeking long-term growth to accomplish donors' charitable goals. Active Portfolio Returns: 10-Year Average Rate of Return: 6.98% 10-Year Compounded Annual Growth Rate: 6.55% 2023 Rate of Return: 14.00% 2024 August Rate of Return: 2.00% 2024 YTD Rate of Return: 10.88%
  • Dynamic Portfolio
    This is a bolder “growth-oriented” long-term investment portfolio and consists of a mix of fixed-income investments and equity investments to accomplish donors' charitable goals. Dynamic Portfolio Returns: 10-Year Average Rate of Return: 7.79% 10-Year Compounded Annual Growth Rate: 7.09% 2023 Rate of Return: 15.79% 2024 August Rate of Return: 2.14% 2024 YTD Rate of Return: 12.03%

GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Before you get started, consider the following guidelines:

  • Your proposal must benefit Muscatine County and/or Louisa County residents.

  • The program or project must be completed within 10 months of awarding.

  • The Granting Committee may investigate your proposal to ensure its validity or gain additional information. Applications must be received by the deadline date noted on the online grant application.

  • As a grant recipient, you will be required to provide a final report, send digital photos, and submit receipts to prove your expenditures.
