The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine is proud to announce a significant milestone: surpassing $100 million in assets. This achievement is more than a number—it is a reflection of the trust, vision, and generosity that define our community.

We are privileged to steward more than 300 individual charitable funds, each established to support a wide range of causes—from granting to education, health, and housing to the arts, workforce development, and more. These funds, created by individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits, are expressions of commitment to the people, places, and causes they care about most. Over the past 25 years, more than $71 million has been granted to support vital charitable programs and projects locally, nationally, and internationally.
This moment has been made possible by those who came before us—founders and early champions, staff, and board members who laid the groundwork for an enduring culture of philanthropy. Their leadership, combined with the ongoing trust of our donors and partners, has created a legacy that continues to give, actuate, and grow.
“This milestone is not just about reaching $100 million in assets—it’s about the impact these resources and related granting represent,” said Charla Schafer, President of the Community Foundation. “Every gift entrusted to the Community Foundation reflects hope, commitment, and belief in a better future for our neighbors and children. We are honored to be the bridge between the generous hearts of our donors and the needs and opportunities within our community.”
As we celebrate this milestone, we remain deeply committed to stewarding these resources wisely, convening collaborative solutions, and ensuring that the Community Foundation continues to be a trusted partner in philanthropy.
