Dr. Jim Yong Kim: A renowned expert on global health and mental well-being, Dr. Kim inspires you to change the world and provides eye-opening and empowering insights on how to do it. At Partners in Health, Dr. Kim helped launch a movement that transformed global health forever. He is renowned for his pioneering approaches to tackling global health issues, education, and economic development at the World Bank.
Key Experts:
Dr. Rima Afifi: A Professor at the University of Iowa and Director of the Prevention Research Center for Rural Health, Dr. Afifi engages in public health research and practice with the intent to promote social, community, and policy environments conducive to well-being.
Alma Brunson: Founder of Micaela's Hope and advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention, Alma strives to help those in need and spread awareness of mental health to honor her daughter Micaela who died by suicide at age 16 in 2016.
Ben Pohl: With expertise in pediatrics and adult health, Ben exhibits a deep understanding of the impact stigma has on care and current trends that will impact your health. As a PA-C at UnityPoint Clinic, Ben is actively involved in leading community health initiatives to improve outcomes and promote wellness.

About Dr. Jim Yong Kim
Dr. Kim has devoted his life to changing global development, health, and education policies in an effort to shift people's sense of what is possible.
He was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1959 and moved to Muscatine in fifth grade with his parents and siblings when his father began practicing dentistry in our community.
Dr. Kim was the 1978 Muscatine High School valedictorian, class president, and participated actively in extracurricular activities including Model UN, basketball, golf, and football.
Dr. Kim earned his B.A. in Human Biology from Brown University and his Ph.D. in Anthropology and M.D. from Harvard. It was there that he co-founded Partners in Health.
Dr. Kim has served in strategic national and global life-enhancing roles including Director of the World Health Organization (2003-2006), President of Dartmouth College (2009-2012), President of the World Bank (2012-2019), and Vice-Chairman of Global Infrastructure Partners (2019-Present).
He is a sought-after speaker and contributor, presenting to the world's most powerful leaders, as well as prestigious global health, economic, and student forums.
A physician and anthropologist, Dr. Kim is the recipient of a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship and has been recognized as one of America's "25 Best Leaders" by U.S. News & World Report, named to TIME'S "100 Most Influential People in the World," and listed to Forbes' "World's Most Powerful People."
