Senator Charles Grassley visited the Mulberry Health Clinic on Monday, April 14, for a tour of the facility, followed by a town hall with local leaders and healthcare providers.

Hosted by UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine and the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, the visit highlighted the vital role of community-based healthcare in rural Iowa and offered an opportunity for meaningful dialogue around current challenges and opportunities in the healthcare landscape.
During the tour, Senator Grassley met with clinic staff and supporters to learn about the benefits of the expanded and modern facility to recruit and retain health care professionals and ensure the continued local presence of quality primary health care in Muscatine.
The town hall that followed brought together representatives from across Muscatine, including local government, education, and business. Topics of discussion ranged from healthcare workforce shortages and Medicaid reimbursement to affordable housing.
“We’re grateful to Senator Grassley for taking the time to visit our new facility and hear directly from our community,” said Rachel Pohl, Executive Director of Trinity Muscatine. “The issues we face are complex, but visits like these help elevate the voices of rural providers and the patients we serve.”
The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine and UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine extend their thanks to all who participated in the visit and town hall.
