Mulberry Health Clinic Project

Updated: Jan 20, 2023

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine in conjunction with the Muscatine Health Support Fund is leading a $16 million project to build a new, three floor, 42,000 square foot, health clinic facility that is operated by UnityPoint Health and connected to the UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine Hospital.

Health has been identified as a priority of the Community Foundation and improving access to health care has been recognized as both a need and a priority of our community and County as a whole.

Mulberry Health Clinic Project Goals:

  • Maintain a safe facility for health care professionals to practice and patients to receive their care.

  • Improve the ability to recruit and retain health care professionals to our rural community.

  • Ensure continued local presence of quality primary health care.

The necessary funding will be derived from a philanthropic campaign primarily directed at targeted local businesses, industries, and community members that is being matched up to $4 million dollars from Kent Corporation, in additional to the funding commitments already received in support of the project.

We are anticipating an 18-month construction period with project completion in Spring 2024. The structure of the project allows for continued operation of the current clinic while construction of the new facility occurs. More information about the project can be found here.
